Dr Andrew Pilkington
Professor of Particle Physics
Andrew is a particle physicist working on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). He holds a Royal Society University Research Fellowship at the University.
His research involves the analysis of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. He currently focuses on precision measurements of Higgs boson production and weak boson fusion, as well as searching for hints of Dark Matter production. He also has a long-standing interest in Quantum Chromodynamics and helps with the ATLAS calorimeter jet energy scale calibration. He occasionally works on particle physics phenomenology, to help bridge the gap between experimentalists and theorists.
