Data Science Club

Club Leads: Dr David Wong, Dr Tingting Mu, Dr Matthew Thorpe

The data science club is a great opportunity for researchers, from those new to data analysis through to the field-leaders, to come together and hear about the cutting edge in data science methods and techniques being applied in research areas right across the university, the public sector and in business. Data Science is inherently multidisciplinary and collaborative - come along to share with others what you’re working on, find collaborators and develop ideas on exciting future projects.

The Data Science Club has been relaunched in 2021 as Innovation Club organised by Digital Futures. The Innovation Clubs are targeted particularly at early career researchers, helping to build communities of practice around key digital research technologies and providing a forum for researchers to share their knowledge, experience and practical skills in these areas.

In addition to the regular club meetings, there is a dedicated Microsoft Teams space for UoM staff to discuss publications, funding calls and events relevant to Data Science research. You can sign up to receive targeted updates on upcoming data science club meetings and join the Microsoft Teams by registering here.
