The next meeting of the Data Science Club will take place on Tuesday 1st November with a keynote talk from the lead of GM Connect; Eric Applewhite.
Eric will give an overview of the GM Connect programme; a transformational data sharing initiative established by the ten local authorities of the city region operating as the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). GM Connect aims to encourage and support pan GM data sharing across organisational and geographical boundaries, helping to deliver improved services and efficient allocation of resources, resulting in better outcomes for residents. This GM-wide approach will replace the myriad of existing data policies with a single coordinated approach.
There will also be a presentations from University of Manchester staff & researchers discussing their recent work.

- Alan Davies (School of Computer Science) - What can Eye-tracking Data tell us about how Clinicians View Electrocardiograms?
- Anna Beukenhorst (School of Biological Science) - Cloudy with a Chance of Pain & the associated data analysis challenges
- Alexandra Albert (School of Social Sciences) - Citizen Social Science
