Liverpool Early Career Researcher Conference 2019: Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

The University of Liverpool SIAM-IMA Student Chapter and the Liverpool Centre for Mathematics in Healthcare would like to invite you all to the "Liverpool Early Career Researcher Conference 2019: Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence."

The conference will be held on the 3rd – 5th April 2019. The conference will take place in the Elizabeth Gidney Room, Reilly Building, University of Liverpool.

The aim of this conference is to bring together a community of people interested in data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence and their applications to statistics, health and life sciences and the environment.

They also aim to showcase the engagement opportunities and career prospects in data science. To reflect this they have invited a wide range of speakers from both academia and industry.

Prof. Tony Hey (Chief Data Scientist, STFC)

Dr. Richard Pinch (Former Head of Profession for Mathematics, GCHQ)

Dr. Danielle Belgrave (Machine Learning Researcher, Microsoft Research)

Dr. Xiaowei Huang (Lecturer in Computer Science, University of Liverpool)

Dr. Edward Pyzer-Knapp (Research Lead for Machine Learning and AI, IBM)

Prof. Simon Maskell (Professor of Autonomous Systems, University of Liverpool)

Dr. Maria Angela Ferrario (Lecturer in Digital Technology and Environmental Change, University of Lancaster)

Dr. David Hughes (UKRI Innovation Fellow in Biostatistics, University of Liverpool)

They will also have sessions with contributed talks and posters.

There is a small registration fee of £10 per day with a discounted rate of £25 for all 3 days. We appreciate some people may not be able to claim expenses from a department budget/grant, and therefore there are a number of scholarships available to cover the registration fee. If you require a scholarship, please contact the organising committee.
