Opportunity - Expensive-Optimization for Bioprocessing (KTP Associate)

DSIdigitalhumanitiesgrid

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with Biopharm Services Ltd (BPS).

The University of Manchester and Biopharm Services are looking to recruit a Research Associate/Postdoctoral Researcher to undertake this 13 month project which has an overall aim of developing an optimization tool for solving computationally expensive problems in the domain of bioprocessing (or simply drug manufacturing). Moreover, these problems have constraints, discrete (nominal and ordinal) variables, multiple objectives, and uncertainties.

The position will provide you with a unique opportunity to lead the transfer of knowledge from the University of Manchester through to the biopharmaceutical industry, and in the development of novel software tool to be commercialised by Biopharm Services.

You should have a PhD OR a good MSc and relevant working experience in a quantitative subject such as computing, mathematics, statistics, physics or engineering.

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities, and industry.
